UPDATE: BEACH CLOSURE

Several beaches in KwaZulu-Natal have remained closed due to the ongoing windy conditions.

The beaches include, Alkantstrand, Newark beach, Salt Rock, Willards beach, Westbrook and Umhlanga: Bronze beach.

The KwaZulu-Natal Sharks Board has also reinstated shark nets to a number of beaches across the province which have been re-opened following the inclement weather.

These beaches include Zinkwazi, Blythedale, Thompson’s Bay, Clark Bay, Umdloti, Umhlanga Main beach, beaches north of the Casino, Ansteys beach and Brighton beach.

Sharks Board Area Manager for the North Coast, Grayson Love said: “We will endeavour to adhere to this schedule, but will confirm the safety gear status as progress towards removal and reinstallation is achieved.”
