South Regional Business Fair Exhibition Space Is Sold Out
The South Regional Business Fair exhibition space is officially sold out before the set deadline. The Fair will take place at KwaMnyandu Shopping Centre on 27 to 29 July 2018 under the theme ‘Township and Rural Economy Revitalisation’.
The original registration deadline was 29 June, however it has fast reached full space occupancy due to growing interest from businesses that are eager to partake in this landmark platform which showcases and markets their products to a wider audience and potential investors.
Mayor Zandile Gumede said this is proof that the City made a good move about reviving Regional Business Fairs five years ago. “This is a clear indication that this invaluable exhibition platform, which also provides network and business linkages opportunities, is tremendously boosting emerging companies profiles and economic status.”
Mayor Gumede said businesses who did not make it to the South Fair must not be discouraged as the Municipality is still going to host the last Regional Fair in the North during August.
She further encouraged the business community to attend the South Fair as there will be plenty of empowerment activities that will be taking place apart from the exhibition.
The South Fair programme will entail Construction Development Indaba, Entrepreneurship Opportunities Dialogue for young people, film development opportunities, fashion as well as provide culinary skills to local emerging chefs.
Deputy City Manager for Economic Development and Planning, Phillip Sithole said early registration from businesses should be applauded because it allows for more time towards planning a world-class exhibition.
“The Durban Business Fair is one of the City’s flagship programmes aimed at creating a platform for business growth and development. As the custodians of economic development within eThekwini, we are pleased that our business community and relevant stakeholders are now taking full advantage of such platforms created for their growth opportunities,” Sithole said.
