Social Cohesion Dialogue: Women to Women and Men to Men
As the 3rd Social Cohesion Conference draws closer, eThekwini Municipality will end-off the thought-provoking and hard hitting dialogues with a session aimed at discussing the various roles played by men and women in shaping and influencing the cause of direction within the black communities of yesteryear and today.
The ground-breaking 3rd Social Cohesion Conference will take place from 19 to 20 June 2017 at Coastlands Hotel, Umhlanga.
The preceding “Women to Women and Men to Men” dialogues will be broken into two sessions, with a breakfast session looking at how women have evolved over the years and comparing challenges faced by black women during the past years versus women of today. Panellists that will be participating in the dialogue include Anuradha Dasi, Dr Taki Dube, Ashanteewa Ngidi and Annalisa Thembakazi Gxabhu.
The second session will tackle the impact of how men are raised and groomed has on society. In light of the rise in violence against women by men, we will look at how society can improve in raising boys that are responsible and will protect as opposed to harming their female counterparts. Panel members will include Dereck Mhlongo and Dr Victor Ramathesele.
