Metro Police have appointed a new Spokesperson, Senior Superintendent Eugene Msomi who will now lead the Metro Police’s Communication Department.
Msomi officially resumed his duties on Monday, 18/10/10. He has worked as a police officer for 25 years and has vast experience on issues of safety and security.
Msomi said taking this position would be a challenge but he was up to it. “Being a spokesperson is a huge responsibility which requires a certain calibre,” Msomi said.
He is taking over from Senior Superintendent Joyce Khuzwayo who has been the face and a voice of Metro Police for the past years. She has been deployed to work in the Specialised Metro Police Unit.
“I have come at the right time when we are approaching the festive season. Law enforcement during this period is our priority,” said Msomi.
Msomi said he will work closely with members of the media in communicating about law enforcement in the City.
