Municipality Urges Residents to Use Water Sparingly

The eThekwini Municipality has cautioned residents, especially those in the Outer West Areas, to use water sparingly. This is as a result of the lower than normal supply of water to these areas. An investigation is currently underway to determine the reason for the decreased supply from Umgeni Water Services.

As the City experiences high temperatures, the demand for water also increases and residents are urged to ensure that they utilise water responsibly.

Water Saving Tips

- Check all faucets and pipes for leaks
- Use your dishwasher and washing machine only when you have a full load
- Do not leave the tap running while you are washing dishes
- Teach children to use water sparingly

Residents are urged to report water leaks on toll free number 0801313013, or e-mail Eservices@durban.gov.za and WhatsApp 0731483477
