The Minister of Telecommunications and Postal services, Dr Siyabonga Cwele and Deputy Minister, Prof Hlengiwe Mkhize will officially open the 2015 GovTech conference at the Durban International Convention Centre on 26 October 2015.

GovTech 2015, SITA’s 10th annual conference and exhibition, provides a platform for peer learning and review amongst technology thought-leaders in government, the private sector, academics, students and innovators. This year’s theme is “Partnering for Service Delivery-Connecting Communications for Growth and Development”.

Government is prioritising the use of technology to accelerate the delivery of services and the expansion, modernization and accessibility of information and communications infrastructure, including broadband.

The Minister will launch an ICT Lab launch at the Umlazi Comprehensive Technical High School, 1521 S Section, Mangosuthu Highway, Umlazi, Durban, at 12h30. The lab will be furnished with 33 computers, a projector, an interactive white board, a printer and digital educational content.
