Mayor Sends Australia Travel Report Back to Officials

A report seeking approval for eThekwini Mayor James Nxumalo to participate in a delegation to Sydney, Australia to attend a dinner and a tourism breakfast has not been approved by the Executive Committee.

The report which was tabled before the committee today, 8 March 2016, has been referred back to the Economic Development and Planning Committee for a detailed programme to be submitted.

Nxumalo made it clear that his participation in any programme outside the country would be on the basis of providing strategic advise on issues that will grow eThekwini’s economy in a manner that promotes opportunities and prosperity.

According to the report tabled at Exco today, authority was granted for Durban Tourism to market eThekwini as a destination of choice for tourists and investors through KZN Ebandla in Australia.
