Exhibition Opening: Interpreting History Through the Eyes Of The Child

EThekwini Municipality’s Durban Art Gallery will host an exhibition opening titled, “Interpreting History through the Eyes of the Child”. This is a celebration of the artistic talent of children who have participated in the Passbook Competition over the past five years.

Performance clips, posters, recreation of artefacts, collages, poetry and essays of children from grades 4 to 11 will be part of the exhibition.

The creations to be exhibited have been produced by school children from various schools around the City who had participated in the Municipality’s Passbook Competition. The competition is an annual programme run by the Local History Museum and was started in 2013. It aims not only to create awareness about the different heritage sites, but to introduce a fun and interactive way for school learners to learn about their history and heritage.

The exhibition will be on display until 27 May 2018.
