EThekwini hosts dialogue to unpack the Blue Economy

A dialogue on the Oceans Economy is being hosted by the eThekwini Municipality on Thursday, 03 September 2015 at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.

The discussion will be led by Minister of Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation, Hon. Jeff Radebe.

The dialogue is aimed at engaging with stakeholders to find sustainable ways of growing the local economy and fostering relations with neighbouring economic hubs through the City’s port.

Durban’s busy port is often referred to as the gateway to Africa and fills a strategic role in the economic success of the city.

A number of experts will be on hand to talk around issues of the blue economy. They include Thokozani Mkhize from Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife; Moshe Motlohi from the National Ports Authority as well as a representative from the South African Maritime Safety Authority (SAMSA).
Members of the media are invited to attend the dialogue.
