EThekwini Sports Legends Launch

EThekwini Municipality’s Parks, Recreation and Culture Unit will be hosting a Sport Legends Launch on Thursday, 18 February 2016.

The Sport Legends structure will support and enable sport development programmes to be implemented in the City. 

Communities will have an opportunity to participate in the various sporting codes while coaches will receive mentorship from renowned sporting legends.

Legends participating in the programme include Cedric “Sugar Ray” Xulu, an eThekwini Living Legend and soccer coach and former professional soccer player as well as swimming coach Eddie Meth, the first black coach with a swimmer winning a gold medal at the National Championship level as well as other renowned sporting legends.

A documentary will be made from the various programmes under the Sports Legends structure for a local museum.
