EThekwini Invites Residents To Give Input On Inner City Local Area Plan

In the aftermath a highly successful hosting of the 52nd International Society of City and Regional Planners (ISOCARP) Congress, eThekwini Municipality invites all citizens of eThekwini to share their views and suggestions on the City’s draft proposals for the Warwick Precinct Plan.

The Warwick Precinct Plan which is a part of the City’s Inner City Local Area Plan is set to redesign and transform the bustling Warwick triangle into a central hub for commerce and trading which residents can enjoy, investors can do business in and which is tourism friendly.

The precinct is a historical Durban landmark which is home to other City landmarks such as the Durban Early Morning Market, the Berea Station, and various other food outlets.

As the City gets closer to achieving its goal vision of being Africa’s most liveable city by 2030 we aim to put our plans into form. This vision will only be achieved by the City meeting its people’s needs so that all citizens enjoy a high quality of life with equal opportunities, in a City that they can be proud of. These should not just be concepts, but actual transformation that is formed in unity with our community.

As a caring City, eThekwini remains committed to ensuring service delivery and addressing the concerns raised by our residents through robust engagements.

To view and comment on the Municipality’s Draft proposals for the Warwick Precinct Plan, members of the public are invited to attend an open day on, Wednesday 28 September.

The open day will be held at the Itrump Hall, 22 Stratford Road, from 10h00 to 15h00.

Posters of the proposals will be on display throughout the day and for the next two days. This will allow eThekwini residents to view the proposals, before commenting.
