Draft Budget Regional Hearings 2018/19
The Mayor, Cllr Zandile Gumede will be taking the City’s R45.8bn Draft Budget for the 2018/19 financial year to the people of eThekwini as from tomorrow 19 April 2018. The Draft Budget was tabled at full Council on 28th of March.
The theme for the 2018 roadshows is: “Radically Transforming Communities”. The budget roadshows do not only seek to present the proposed budget and get input from members of the community but also seeks to profile and highlight service delivery successes achieved by the Municipality. Officials from various service delivery units will also be present to assist with any questions that residents may want to raise.
The regional consultations will take place at eight different venues during the next few weeks ensuring that all residents from all regions of the City are thoroughly covered.
The proposed dates for the roadshows are from Thursday, 19 April to Wednesday, 9 May and are scheduled to start at 10am.
The regions are:
• Central region – Botanical Gardens. Date to be confirmed,
• North region at the Princess Magogo Stadium on 19 April,
• Outer North region at the Tongaat Outspan Grounds on 21 April,
• The North region at the JL Dube Stadium on 22 April,
• The South region at the King Zwelithini Stadium on 23 April,
• The Outer South region at the Umnini Grounds, on 3 May
• The Outer West region at the Mpumalanga Stadium on 6 May, and
• The West region at the Klaar Water Grounds on 7 May.
