MEDIA INVITATION

DARE TO CARE STREET SLEEPOVER

Despite having homes and warm beds to sleep in, hundreds of eThekwini residents will spend Friday night, 15 May 2015, sleeping on the streets of Durban.

The sleepover, initiated by eThekwini Municipality in partnership with ICARE, is for ordinary citizens to gain insight into what it is like to be homeless. Participants will spent one whole evening with the homeless people of the City and use this time to share stories, give advice, fellowship – and possibly change somebody’s life.

Participants will be guided to zones which have been reserved on Dr Pixley KaSeme (former West) Street. Every zone will be marked and have zone leaders overseeing the safety and other needs of participants:

Members of the media are invited to be part of the evening’s proceedings.
