Commonwealth Games 2022 Bid-Inbound Visits Itinerary

TWENTY ONE member states of the Commonwealth Games Federation from Africa and Asia have arrived in the City to assess Durban’s state of readiness to host the 2022 Commonwealth Games. The four-day visit is from 15 to 19 July 2015. This is the first delegation to conduct site visits of our sporting facilities. Next week a European and Oceania delegation will arrive from 22 to 26 July 2015 and the last visit will be by the Americas and the Caribbean delegation that is expected to arrive in Durban on 05 to 09 August 2015. 

THE ITINERARY FOR 16 JULY 2015 IS AS FOLLOWS:

11h00 – 12h15 Golden Mile (Durban Beachfront) 

Rachel Finlayson Pool (Next to California Dreaming Restaurant) 

Beach Volleyball (New Beach) 

Wheelchair Basketball 

12h15 – 12h30 Travel to Moses Mabhida Stadium

12h30-13h30 Lunch Moses Mabhida – Presidential Suite

13h30 – 15h00 Tour of Moses Mabhida Stadium and a ride on the cable car 

Include Kings Park venue discussions 

15h15 – 16h30 Tour of the ICC 

Tea Break after tour 

19h00 Gala Dinner at Coastlands Hotel
