Clean-Up Operations Underway After High Waves Hit Durban Promenade
Clean-up operations have begun at the Durban beachfront after high waves washed over the beach promenade yesterday afternoon, 21 January 2018.
A seven-year old child died when she was washed away by the waves while standing on the pier.
The North Beach bathing area and pier remain closed as clean-up operations continue. No infrastructural damage has been reported. It is anticipated that the cleanup operations will be completed by the end of today.
