City Promotes Culture of Reading Through Authors’ Seminar
 
As part of its mandate to promote literacy and the culture of reading, eThekwini Municipality’s Library and Heritage Department will host the Authors’ Seminar.
 
Local authors will be given an opportunity to share insight into their works with aspirant writers and other authors. They will unpack the thought-process of putting an idea onto paper and ultimately producing a book. Local authors who will be part of the seminar include Dr Deena Padayachee, Sandhir Sewmungal, Deepak Paday, Sanele Gamede, Mbali Gcabashe, Richard Colombe and Sphesihle Mthana.
 
EThekwini was recently awarded the UNESCO City of Literature status. The Authors’ Seminar is one of the programmes hosted under this banner. Members of the media are invited to be part of the seminar.
