City Host Last Leg Of Inner and Outer Regional Business Fair Activation
IT’S the final push for the Inner and Outer West Regional Business Fair as eThekwini Municipality will tomorrow, 24 May, host the last activation in order to pique the interest of those in the public and private sectors to partake in this ground-breaking initiative.
The activation for the Business Fair taking place from 25 to 27 May at Hammarsdale Junction Mall will be led by the Municipality’s leadership, stakeholders as well as Uzalo cast (an SABC 1 telenovela).
The team will travel in a Rickshaw Bus with promoters and loud hailing team in a trailer with the stage and sound. The tour will take place in Hammarsdsale from unit 1,2,3,4 and 6. The Rickshaw Bus will also stop in busy areas such as establishments that provide car wash services, malls and taxi ranks to communicate the Business Fair programme while distributing flyers.
As part of the City’s commitment to boost township tourism, the activation will end at local shisanyama ‘Magaba lounge’ where the Business Fair programme will be unpacked.
EThekwini Mayor Zandile Gumede said it is vital to make the entire community aware of this innovative empowerment programme.
The Municipality promises to once again stage a comprehensive economic empowerment programme, ranging from film and television production, business competition, youth business connect sales pitching, fashion masterclass, construction and co-operatives to name a few.
“Hosting such a versatile business programme in smaller towns confirms the City’s commitment to ensuring inclusive growth and boosting local economic development in previously marginalised areas. This is one of the reasons why we revived the Regional Business Fair six years ago,” said Mayor Gumede.
Members of the media are invited to be part of the activation. Details are as follow:
