Call for Abstracts for 52nd Isocarp International Planning Congress

City and regional planners or other interested parties from relevant disciplines from all over the world are encouraged to submit and upload their abstracts on the International Society of City and Regional Planners (ISOCARP) website.

If successful, they will be selected to present a paper for one of the six tracks when the 52nd International Society of City and Regional Planners International Planning Congress takes place in Durban from the 12 -16 September 2016.

The theme of the congress is ‘Cities we have vs Cities we need’. 

This will be an outstanding opportunity for worldwide planners to learn, present and discuss some of the most recent planning, research and decision making issues.

The International Society of City and Regional Planners (ISOCARP) is a global association of experienced professional planners. It was founded in 1965 in a bid to bring together recognised and highly-qualified planners in an international network.

The 52nd World Planning Congress will examine and generate approaches to transitions from static to dynamic communities, inhabitants to citizens, theory to practice, regulation to urban resiliency, sectoral infrastructure to smart cities and integrating rural/urban and natural/built environments.
