4th Josiah Tshangana Gumede Dialogue

EThekwini Municipality’s Local History Museum in partnership with the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) and the Democracy Development Program (DDP) will host the 4th Josiah Tshangana Gumede dialogue on Thursday, 04 February 2016 at the Durban Natural Science Research Centre. 

The dialogue will provide a platform for participants to debate and raise issues that challenge the role of intellectuals in today’s democratic society.

Josiah Tshangana Gumede is a former ANC president whose ideology of people from different backgrounds working together towards a free and democratic society is still relevant today.

Speakers will include Dr Rama Naidu from the DDP; Dr Bheki Mngomezulu, Chief Executive Officer of the Mzala Nxumalo Centre for the study of South African Society; Belinda Johnson from the school of Public Policy Issues and Political Communication at UKZN, Siphamandla Zondi from UNISA and 2015 eThekwini Living Legend Awardee and science expert, Prof Quarrisha Abdool Karim.

Members of the media are invited to attend the dialogue.
