2017 EThekwini Games to Promote Sports Development and Social Cohesion in the City

Media are invited to attend the various codes of sport to be played as the eThekwini Municipality’s Sports and Recreation Department hosts the 2017 eThekwini Games.
The Games, which aims to promote social cohesion and sports development in the City, will take place at different venues.
The eThekwini Games, which ends on Sunday, 30 July, is now at the stage where teams selected to represent zones will compete against each other for the ultimate prize of being named as eThekwini Champions. All eThekwini priority sports codes are covered and include table tennis, netball, indigenous games, chess, swimming, cricket, athletics, rugby, basketball, tennis, volleyball and dance.
The Games are also an opportunity to scout for players to represent Team eThekwini at the 2017 KwaZulu-Natal South African Local Government Association Games.
Games begin at 08h30 and members of the media are invited to cover each event.
